The crime involves a female student and an encounter that occurred off school property last fall, according to Hamilton police.

Dattilo, of Monroe, turned herself in to police in January after her indictment. She is free on $5,000 bond.

Police said parents reported a possible inappropriate relationship between Dattilo and the student to a school staff member, and police began an investigation.

Dattilo has been on unpaid leave from the district since the investigation began.
