Identity of driver in fatal Oxford Twp. crash released

OXFORD TWP. — The name of a man killed in a weekend crash in Oxford Twp. has been released by police.

Eliott Hanger, 21, of Stillwell-Beckett Road in Oxford Twp. died in a single car accident at about 8:55 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, on Ringwood Road, according to Oxford Twp. Police Chief Michael Goins.

Preliminary investigation indicates the 1996 Ford Taursus was traveling west on Ringwood when Hanger lost control in a curve, over corrected and went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole before going airborne. The car landed on its top in the middle of the road.

Hanger was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Goins said driver inattention and speed may have been factors. An autopsy will be performed by the Butler County Coroner’s office today, Oct. 19.
