Lima minister arrested in sex sting in Dayton

DAYTON — A minister from Lima is accused of driving to Dayton to meet a prostitute for sex.

John Perkins posted bond and was released from the Montgomery County Jail during the weekend after police said he met a woman at the Marriott on South Patterson Boulevard who was an undercover police officer.

Perkins is the minister at the First Church of the Nazarene in Lima, police said. He was arrested on charges of soliciting and possession of criminal tools.

Police said he agreed to pay $100 for sex at the hotel after police posted a fake ad on a website offering sex for money.
