Man accused of robbing Troy bank appears in court

UPDATE March 16: The man accused of robbing the MainSource Bank in Troy was arraigned in court this morning.

A judge raised Brian Feltner’s bond by $25,000. He was charged on Friday with the Feb. 18 crime.

The 40-year-old from Troy was already in jail for making false alarms and probation violation.

Feltner allegedly went into the bank, tossed the teller a bag, and said in a low voice, “Fill it up,” according to a police report included in court documents.

A weapon was not shown and no one was hurt.

Police say he also made a false report of someone with a gun at Walmart across town minutes before the robbery.

FIRST REPORT Feb. 18: Police are searching for a masked man who robbed MainSource Bank in Troy this morning.

The suspect is described as over 6 feet tall, wearing a black mask, black puffy winter coat, black hooded sweatshirt, faded blue jeans and white shoes.

Police said he placed a bag on the counter of the bank and asked for the money. He did not show a gun or indicate he had a weapon.

The robbery was reported at the main branch on Market Street at East West Street around 9:30 a.m.

Troy police say just minutes before that, they were called to the report of a man with a gun inside Walmart on the other side of town. They said they believe the suspect made that call as a distraction.

The suspect fled the bank on foot and got into a silver Pontiac with damage on the passenger side.
