Man fined in case involving missing Florida girl found in Springboro

A Colombian man was ordered on Wednesday to pay a $100 fine as part of his sentence for contributing to the delinquency of a missing 14-year-old Florida girl found in a Springboro park in February.

The girl, missing for about five months, was returned to Florida, and her case was referred to a human trafficking task force.

On Wednesday, Judge Joseph Kirby suspended a 30-day jail sentence and $400 of a $500 fine that he ordered for Lukas Serrano, 23, during a hearing in Warren County Juvenile Court.

According to court records, Serrano pleaded guilty to the contributing charge during the hearing in the court in Lebanon. He was also ordered to pay $65 in court costs.

After his arrest in February, Serrano told police he met the girl through the “Badoo” app.

“The report states Lukas Serrano advises he uses the app to meet girls, and he was looking for somebody to smoke with. Lukas Serrano met (the girl) in Cincinnati and took her to Indiana,” according to an affidavit for a search warrant used to extract data from his cell phone.

Serrano reportedly told police he took the girl to Indiana after she told him she was fleeing an abusive boyfriend. Serrano said he brought her back to Warren County after she said she was being abused by a person she was visiting in Indiana, according to the search warrant.

Serrano reportedly told Springboro police that he paid for a hotel room in Springdale, a Cincinnati-area suburb, where they stayed the night, but he said they did not have sex. After a meal at a Chipotle in Monroe, he said they went to the Springboro park, where they were then detained after an off-duty police officer smelled marijuana while walking his dog in Milo Beck Park in Springboro.
