UPDATE@3 p.m.:

Aaron David Miller, 34, of Miamisburg has been indicted for beating a woman in the parking lot of Cheeks Gentleman’s Club last month, Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. announced in a press release Monday afternoon.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m. on May 27, West Carrollton Police were dispatched to the club on a report of an assault. Police located the 28-year-old female victim, who was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, the release said.

The investigation, including surveillance video and witness statements, determined that Miller attacked the victim in the parking lot of the club, repeatedly kicking and striking her, the release said.

Witnesses were able to identify the Miller, and police responded to his home, where he was taken into custody.

Miller was indicted on one count of felonious assault causing serious harm. He’s currently out on a $250,000 bond and is on electronic home detention.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on June 21.

The general manager of Cheeks Gentleman’s Club in West Carrollton is wondering aloud why any man would beat up a woman so much so that no one could recognize her.

Erick Cochran said when he found out who the victim was, he remembered that she works at a nearby gas station where he buys energy drinks.

Two of his bartenders, who were at the end of their shifts early Friday, found the woman on the ground and called 9-1-1. Cochran said one of them has medical training and rendered aid until police arrived.

“She was bludgeoned severely,” Cochran told News Center 7’s Caroline Reinwald on Friday evening. “Obviously received several blows to the face.”

Cochran said a “large white male, fit, well over 6-foot, 240, 250 [pounds]” got out of a white four-door Malibu and accosted the woman. Cochran knows that because he reviewed surveillance video. The attack, he said, occurred in an secluded part of the parking lot between a nearby sports bar and the gentlemen’s club, 906 Watertower Lane.

Whoever beat up the woman “has fighting experience, from everything we could gather so far,” Cochran said. “It’d be hard pressed for a full-grown male that didn’t have training to stand a chance, much less a female.”

He just wishes the woman had made it to the safety of his establishment. Cochran said the horror of what happened hit him later, when he found out who the victim was.

“Why would somebody do something like this?” he asked aloud.

The suspect West Carrollton police arrested is Aaron Miller, 33, who on Friday night remained in the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of felonious assault. The charge has yet to be approved by the county prosecutor’s office.

When the woman was found, on the ground about 2:43 a.m., there was blood coming from her mouth, according to police and fire dispatch records.

Jason Witt, a bartender at Miami Valley Sports Bar, also in the 900 block of Watertower Lane and near Cheeks, knows the woman and said she was at his establishment just 30 minutes prior to her being found. Witt’s comments coincide with Cochran’s statements.

“She was having fun, she was talking to her friends, she was making new friends as always because that’s what she does. At last call she decided that she wanted to go home,” Witt said.

The woman said she was going to Cheeks to get a free cab ride home, a service Cochran said his establishment provides. Not long after, Witt said, the manager of Cheeks rang the back door at the sports bar to see if anyone could identify a woman lying in the parking lot.

“If you did not know her you wouldn’t have recognized her; there was blood everywhere,” Witt said. “She was completely unresponsive.”

Witt said he reviewed surveillance video to find she left the sports bar about 2:36 a.m. West Carrollton police arrived at Cheeks parking lot at 2:46 a.m.
