U.S. Marshals nab child sex assault suspect from Miamisburg in Florida

A tip from the Miami Valley led to the arrest this morning of a 53-year-old man wanted in a child sexual assault case in Florida.

U.S. Marshals arrested Brian W. Carrier of Miamisburg at a hotel in the Ocala, Fla., area after the Marshals’ Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team received a tip on Carrier’s whereabouts, according to a news release.

Carrier was booked into the Marion County Jail in Ocala on a warrant for lewd and lascivious molestation of a child and lewd and lascivious battery of a child issued in Citrus County, Florida.

SOFAST warned on Aug. 17 that Carrier was last seen in the Dayton area, possibly staying in a tent or work van in Montgomery and Preble counties. He also was the subject of an intense air and ground search Aug. 23 in the Waynesville area after there were reports he was spotted. Carrier has family who live in Warren County, officials said.
