UPDATE @ 1:30 p.m. (Jan. 18)
Sgt. Creigee Coleman, of Dayton police, said pharmacy employees told responding officers that a suspect with his face covered had made them lie down behind the counter. The suspect then jumped over the counter and asked for prescription drugs of percocet and vicodin.
Coleman said the suspect reportedly displayed a handgun partially wrapped in a towel. The man fled the scene after being given the narcotics.
“Stealing money is different than stealing narcotics; a person who steals narcotics is a little bit more desperate because they have to have that fix, have to gain that high,” Coleman said.
The suspect is described as a male, standing 6 feet, weighing about 170 pounds and wearing a camouflage jacket with fur around the hood.
