Law enforcement first responded to the Econo Lodge hotel on Heller Drive this morning after receiving a 911 call from a man saying he feared for his life.
Deputies found that victim hiding in a truck down the street and he led them back to his hotel room where the remnants of a lab were found, according to Greene County Sheriff’s Maj. Eric Spicer.
The fire department was called to assist in cleaning up the lab around 7:10 a.m. followed by Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation authorities.
Spicer said the man who called 911 was involved in the drug making somehow, but investigators are still piecing together what happened.
“If this was some kind of business enterprise they had together and it fell apart we don’t know,” he said.
According to jail records, the arrested individuals are Rance Michael Robinson, 42, and Brian Keith Richmond, 44.
Robinson is facing a possible charge of illegal manufacture of drugs and Richmond could be charged with aggravated menacing.
Several other guests at the hotel said they were shocked and a bit frightened when they opened their room doors to see agents in protective suits walking around.
“It could have exploded at any time and I’m right underneath there,” said Paul Hays.
Deputies also said a weapon may have been discarded near the hotel and ask anyone who sees it to call police and not handle it.
