Middletown police looking for man wanted for rape, arson after Monday incident

Middletown police are looking for a man wanted for five counts of kidnapping, rape, aggravated arson, aggravated menacing and criminal damaging.

Monquez Ross, 26, resides in Hamilton but is known to frequent Middletown, according to the police department’s Facebook page. Anyone with information is asked to call Middletown police at 513-425-7700.

Police were called Monday afternoon to a residence in the 2700 block of Wilbraham Road, according to a police report. A woman told police she was forced into a residence by a man with a weapon.

Detectives say the incident is drug-related. Ross went to the residence, grabbed a knife from the kitchen and threatened to kill three people if he didn’t get his heroin back, according to Maj. Scott Reeve.

Ross then demanded two other people come to the residence, and when they arrived, he also held them against their will, Reeve said.

A woman’s genitalia was allegedly searched by Ross for the drugs, police said. During the incident, Ross allegedly broke items in the house and tried to set them on fire.

Ross is described as 6 feet and 130 pounds.
