Moraine police: Wanted man known to carry gun

UPDATE @ 8:55 p.m.: Police don't think a Dayton address for Virgil Pack is accurate, so they consider the wanted suspect to be at-large, Moraine police Sgt. Jon Spencer said.

According to an incident report, Pack is accused of shooting a 32-year-old man in his left leg at or near an address in the 3200 block of Shadyview Road.

Police became involved when Miami Valley Hospital officials advised them that a man showed up at the hospital just before 3 p.m. Wednesday suffering from a gunshot wound, Spencer said. Hospital officials considered the wound non-life threatening, he said.

The motive for the shooting remains unclear, the sergeant said, noting that several witnesses identified Pack as the shooter.
