Slate allegedly struck a Kettering police cruiser around 5 a.m. April 16 after the officer responded to a report of a theft at an Annabelle Drive home. When the officer tried to stop the car, it led to a pursuit that went through Kettering and onto Interstate 75 North.

Slate was tracked to his home in the 2600 block of Oneida Avenue in Harrison Twp. The Kettering Regional SWAT team responded. Slate surrendered around 3:30 p.m. He remains in the Montgomery County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
