Passenger killed in single-vehicle crash

TURTLECREEK TWP. — A man was killed and another seriously injured Friday night in a single-vehicle crash along Brewer Road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Leonard D. Anderson, 52, of Mason, the passenger of a 1993 Chevrolet Lumina, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the patrol.

The driver, Michael W. Tucker, 45, was transported by ambulance to Bethesda Medical Center at Arrow Springs in Lebanon. His injuries were not life-threatening, the patrol said.

Sgt. Paul Lezotte of the patrol’s Lebanon Post said the accident occurred at 7:34 p.m. when Tucker, traveling east on Brewer Road failed to negotiate a curve to the left. He then over-corrected and struck a mailbox before coming to rest in a creekbed, he said.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, Lezotte said. Neither man was wearing a seat belt, and charges are pending, according to the patrol.
