On Dec. 22, 2008, Springboro store Manager Todd Dalton followed an armed robber out of the pharmacy until the robber, carrying stolen painkillers, fired at Dalton before escaping in a car.
“I’ve had a restless year wondering when he was going to come back and do it again,” Dalton said.
So far no charges have been filed in connection with armed robberies of prescription painkillers from Discount Drug Marts in Bellbrook, Washington Twp. and Springboro. However, authorities say Tweed took responsibility for those heists after his arrest in Knoxville.
On Oct. 1, 2008, an armed robber escaped with painkillers from the store at Yankee and Lyons in Washington Twp.
Only in the Springboro case were shots fired, although surveillance photos show a robber pointing a gun at people in the Bellbrook store on Sept. 2, 2009.
Investigators say he visited family and a girlfriend in Tennessee.
On Nov. 28, Tweed was arrested by a Knox County deputy about 20 minutes after the armed robbery of pain medication from a Food City store, Detective Mark Webber said in an affidavit filed in federal court in Knoxville.
