A Piqua man entered pleas of not guilty this morning in Miami County Municipal Court on charges of felony burglary, failure to comply and resisting arrest.

The charges against Steve Jones, 36, stem from a Thursday night robbery at Ulbrich’s Market on South Wayne Street in Piqua.

The judge set bond for Jones at $37,500.

Police said Jones has a history as a “violent offender” and he reportedly fought off a cashier and a customer before grabbing a large sum of money from the cash register during the robbery.

Jones was apprehended a short time later and police said the money was found in his pants pocket. No weapon was seen during the robbery and no one was hurt.
