Police blotter

PLEASANT HILL (JAN. 30) – A juvenile court probation officer asked Miami County sheriff’s deputies to assist at a home where a teen was refusing to get out of bed and go to school. The teen was in bed when the deputy entered his room, where the deputy said she could smell alcohol. A bottle of “apple pie” moonshine was sitting by the bed. The boy admitted to drinking and smoking marijuana the previous evening. He was helped to his feet, placed in custody and taken to the West Central juvenile center.

TROY (JAN. 30) – A man who brought a metal pipe to the Miami County Courthouse during a probation visit was searched and the pipe found. The man reportedly told sheriffs deputies he used the pipe for heroin/fentanyl. He was arrested for a probation violation and drug abuse instruments.

VANDALIA (JAN. 19) – A woman told police that her daughter kept making threats against her. A charge of domestic violence was filed against the daughter, whose whereabouts was not known at the time the report was made.

VANDALIA (JAN. 20) – Police were told a wrestling match at a private residence got out of control and resulted in a fight. One person was injured and taken to the Huber Health Center for treatment. Police said charges were pending, but the nature of the charges would depend on the severity of the injury

TIPP CITY (JAN. 26) – A report of suspicious activity was investigated at Speedway on Weller Drive. Police said two vehicles were parked at the pumps around 1:20 a.m. The two drivers had just gotten off work and were talking. They were told to find a better place to meet so they wouldn’t be blocking the station gas pumps.
