Police find animal head in microwave at IKEA

WEST CHESTER TWP. — West Chester police found a lamb’s head inside a display microwave at IKEA after a receiving a call to investigate Dec. 16.

According to reports, police said they found an actual lamb’s head in a microwave, which was later disposed.

Kitalena Mason, spokeswoman for IKEA, said a co-worker informed management “of a small lamb’s head found in the kitchen area of our showroom” and that it was quickly removed and the area thoroughly cleaned.

No such incidents have ever occurred at the store before.

Security tapes from IKEA did not show the area well enough to provide sufficient evidence and police have no suspects. There have been no reports of lambs killed in the area, and such items are available nearby at places like Jungle Jim’s International Market in Fairfield.
