Police: Gunman robs Captain D’s in Huber Heights

UPDATE @ 11:40 p.m. (Feb. 26): Captain D's Seafood Restaurant was robbed a half-hour before closing time tonight.

The suspect showed a handgun, but did not fire it and no employees were hurt during the robbery around 10:30 p.m. at 6380 Brandt Pike, Huber Heights police Sgt. William Garlow said.

A Huber Heights K-9 tried to track the suspect but lost his trail. Garlow said police will review surveillance video to identify a suspect.

Police are not releasing exactly how much cash was taken during the robbery, which remains under investigation.

Police are looking for a gunman tonight who robbed Captain D’s on Brandt Pike.

A robbery was reported shortly before 10:30 p.m. at the restaurant, 6380 Brandt Pike.

The suspect was armed with a black handgun with a silver slide. He was described as a male standing 5 feet, 4 inches wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, who ran out the back of the restaurant with a clear bag full of cash, according to initial reports.

No injuries were reported, and a police K-9 was called to the scene to help track the suspect.
