Police investigate armed robbery at Dayton Burger King

UPDATE @ 8:09 a.m.

Burger King remains closed after a suspect robbed the restaurant earlier Wednesday morning.

The suspect displayed a gun, stole an undetermined amount of cash, ran out of the restaurant and through a hole in a fence to get to a car, a late model white Pontiac.

The suspect headed east on Hoover Avenue. The incident remains under investigation.

INITIAL REPORT

Dayton police have been dispatched on a reported armed robbery at Burger King on North Gettysburg Avenue.

Officers were dispatched around 7:20 a.m. to the restaurant at 1110 North Gettysburg Avenue after an employee reported an armed robbery.

Police scanner traffic indicates a man pointed a gun at the employee and demanded cash. The employee opened the register and allowed the suspect to take the cash, before he fled in a white vehicle towards Hoover Avenue.
