Police investigate 2 Verizon burglaries

The Middletown Verizon store at 3663 Towne Blvd. was burglarized early Friday morning and after police issued a notice to neighboring law enforcement, Springboro police disrupted a second Verizon store break in.

At 3:30 am, Springboro officers checked the cell phone store in Settlers Walk at 758 Gardner Rd., just off State Route 741. After checking the store, officers saw a vehicle drive up to the front door and saw two males exit the vehicle while one stayed in it.

According to the police release, the two broke the store's front glass and entered the store. The police approached the store and the male driver took off at a high rate of speed. After a brief pursuit the driver was apprehended and taken into custody.

Springboro police, the Butler County Air Support Unit and several neighboring jurisdictions conducted a search for the two men in the area surrounding the store. Two subjects were apprehended and taken into custody.

The investigation is continuing to determine if the two burglaries are related and what was taken. Police have not released the names of the three suspects.
