Multiple shots were reportedly fired in the parking lot of the bar near closing time about 2:35 a.m., police said.
Wallaby’s is a nightspot popular with college students. It is unknown if Gibbs was a student.
Police are searching for at least one shooter and possibly another victim who may have fled the scene.
They continue to investigate what led to the shooting, Wuebben said. “Detectives are working through leads at this point, as quickly as they can,” he said.

Montgomery County Common Pleas Court records show Gibbs was arrested on weapons charges twice in 2006 and for felonious assault and tampering with evidence in 2004. Gibbs was arrested just before Christmas for aggravated robbery, according to Montgomery County Jail records.
He faced multiple charges in Dayton Municipal Court for traffic violations, carrying a concealed weapon and assault, according to court records.
A WHIO-TV report from July 2006 said Gibbs was taken by a roommate to Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton after a gunshot to the head ricocheted off his skull.
