Teens in stolen minivan crash into gravel pile, go airborne and land on parked car

Two teenagers in a stolen minivan hit a pile of gravel, went airborne and bounced off the top of a parked car during a crash Thursday night in Dayton.

Police and medics were called just after 10:20 p.m. to Lori Sue Avenue near the North Gettysburg Avenue intersection.

A stolen minivan with two teenage occupants crashed into a gravel pile before going airborne and crushing the top of this parked car on March 21, 2019, on Lori Sue Avenue in Dayton. The minivan then sideswiped another parked car before coming to rest.

Dayton police said the teens were speeding on Lori Sue Avenue when the minivan hit the gravel pile. The minivan went airborne and struck the top of a parked car before it sideswiped a second parked car.

A third parked car was damaged by gravel spray caused by the initial impact, police said.

The teens were taken to Miami Valley Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

We are working to learn whether the teens are suspected of stealing the minivan, and what charges they may face.
