Soccer coach gets 7 years for rape of teen

A local soccer coach was sentenced Thursday to seven mandatory years in prison after being found guilty of rape and gross sexual imposition crimes against a 14-year-old girl.

McKenna Jordan, 38, was convicted by a Montgomery County Common Pleas Court jury in January for crimes in 2012. Judge Dennis Langer ruled that Jordan must register as a Tier III sex offender and be placed on five years' post-release control when he is released from prison. Jordan was credited with 25 days of jail time.

The victim told Langer that Jordan "committed the unthinkable," that she is "fighting for life, dignity and self-worth" and that Jordan is "no longer the monster in my closet."

Jordan thanked his parents, friends and family for support and added, "Till my dying breath, I will deny these (charges). I'm not guilty."

In 2012, Jordan coached boys and girls soccer teams for the Warrior Soccer Club in Huber Heights. Law enforcement officials said Jordan's crimes were not directly related to his role as a coach.
