Springfield man arrested in multiple vehicle break-ins

Clark County Sheriff’s deputies investigating multiple vehicle break-ins in the area of Craig Road and Old Ohio 70 were able to make an arrest after the reported thief crashed his car.

This was during the early hours of July 21 in the 3000 block of Craig Road.

The driver, Christopher Hensley, 39, of Springfield, reportedly had a purple and brown purse on his front seat. The deputy knew that a car break-in victim had a missing purse of that description.

Hensley openly told the deputy he had a drug habit and had been breaking into vehicles to support his habit, according to a media release.

Hensley was taken to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office for further questioning.

Hensley is in Clark County Jail, where he’s booked on two counts of felony theft and one count of felony continuous course of conduct.

The car break-ins happened around Titus Road, Craig Road, Old Ohio 70, Dolly Varden Road in Springfield Twp. and Johnson Road and Folk Ream Road in German Twp.
