Stolen Home-Run-Derby tickets found on Craigslist

A woman reported her purse was stolen in Cincinnati on Sunday, and a friend used Craigslist to track down a suspect.

The victim said in her bag she had, among other items, two tickets to the Home Run Derby, valued at $130 each. After filing a police report in Cincinnati, she said a friend found the tickets for sale on Craigslist.

The victim made plans to meet the seller at her workplace. Police in Cincinnati and Dayton worked together to assist the woman.

Once the seller showed up, police arrived and made contact with the man, Beng Sweet. He stated he was a ticket broker and would never steal anything. He claimed he bought the tickets from a homeless white male.

Sweet, 62, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property. He was taken to Montgomery County Jail, from where he has been released.
