Teacher reports he fears for bodily harm after student threatens him

A Dayton charter school teacher said he fears for bodily harm following threats from a student.

The 57-year-old man who teaches at Bridgescapes Learning Academy, 3237 W. Siebenthaler Ave., reported to police on Wednesday morning that he was threatened by a 15-year-old male student, according to a Dayton police report.

The student threatened that he and his friends would “tear up” the teacher if they saw him outside of school, the report stated.

The teacher said he’s had problems with the student since the beginning of the school year, and that the principal and safety staff were not providing assistance. The teacher said school administrators told him to let the student “do what he wants around school,” according to the report.
