Teen accused of shooting into Dayton house faces numerous charges

An 18-year-old is jailed, accused of firing a gun into a Dayton house Thursday night.

Police were called around 11 p.m. to the 1600 block of Russet Avenue on a report of a person shooting a gun into a house.

A window and wall were damaged at a home, according to a Dayton police report.

About 3½ hours later, police arrested Jeremiah E. Olwine of Dayton. He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of several felony weapons charges, including improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation, carrying concealed weapons and having weapons while under disability. He also faces misdemeanor charges of aggravated menacing, resisting arrest and obstructing official business, according to the report.

A second man also was arrested, 22-year-old Tyre D. Otey of Dayton. He was booked into jail on suspicion of assault and attempted fleeing, eluding and for a possible probation violation, the report showed.
