"We have to go back and figure out why he was a victim," said Dayton Police Sgt. Richard Blommel.
Police were dispatched at about 2:15 p.m. Sunday on reports of a male lying in a pool of blood in the yard of a home on that street. Shells was found in between two houses, one of them vacant, by a neighbor walking down the street. He did not live at either of those residences.
Neighbors told police they heard shots fired in the area on Saturday night. According to the report, the shooting may have occurred as early as 9:15 p.m. Saturday.
