Nearly two years after a Bellefontaine mom was arrested in connection with the death of her three young sons, no trial has been scheduled yet.

But hearing dates have been set in the case against Brittany Pilkington, who been accused of smothering her sons to death over a 13-month period. Infant Niall died in July 2014, 4-year-old Gavin died in April 2015 and 3-month-old Noah died four months later in August 2015.

She has been charged with three counts of aggravated murder and faces the death penalty if convicted.

The Pilkington case was back in Logan County Common Pleas Court this week for a scheduling conference. No action was taken on the record but attorneys decided on some future dates.

She is due back in court on Aug. 21 and 22 for motion hearings. After those are finished, another scheduling conference is set for September. No trial date was set, according to court records.

The judge in the cases has previously reviewed motions in the case. During a two-day hearing in October, Logan County Common Pleas Judge Mark O’Connor reviewed more than four hours of recorded police interviews with Pilkington. He then ruled a confession that was taped by police can be used against her in court.

Logan County Prosecutor Eric Stewart and defense attorney Marc Triplett couldn’t be reached for comment on Wednesday.
