An arrest warrant has been issued for an 18-year-old Harrison Twp. man accused of waving a handgun and threatening people outside Horizon Science Academy.

This happened about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday after a basketball game between Horizon and Miami Valley School at the Horizon school at 250 Shoup Mill Road.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene after reports a driver in a black Chevrolet Impala was driving around the school parking lot threatening people.

A warrant for a misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business has been issued for Adrian J. Blevins, 18.

When police got to the area, they observed the black Impala driving in the area. They followed it for a time and then found it stopped in the middle of the street on Julia Avenue.

The passenger attempted to bolt but was detained by police. The driver, identified as Blevins, ran and a warrant was issued for him.

Blevins’ grandfather said that he was supposed to be at the basketball game.

Kevin Kemper, head coach for Miami Valley School, said his basketball team played against Horizon Science Academy, and won by 20 points.

Kemper said the incident occurred after the game.

He said the black Impala was parked in front of his team’s bus. The car proceeded to circle the bus at least 10 times at high speed, Kemper said.

“It was a pretty scary situation,” Kemper said. “We just want everybody safe.”

A reporter has reached out to Horizon Science Academy for comment.
