West Chester man is OVI suspect in police pursuit

A West Chester Twp. man is facing drunken driving charges after leading Lebanon police on a chase that ended in a crash early Saturday morning.

Lebanon police announced Monday that Adam Edward Ruth, 23, is being held in the Warren County Jail on $15,000 bond.

Ruth allegedly refused to pull over for a Lebanon police officer around 2 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of westbound Ohio 63 and Ohio 48.

Police said the subsequent chase continued on Ohio 63 west into Monroe for about 7 miles.

Police said it ended when Ruth crashed his vehicle into a pole at Corridor Park Drive.

Ruth was arrested at the scene on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license and failure to comply, according to the release.

Passenger Heather Duttweiler, also of West Chester Twp., was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
