Police detectives said they received a tip from a local law enforcement agency that Ratcliff allegedly had posted an advertisement on backpage.com under the adult services “Body Rub” section, said Monroe police Lt. Brian Curlis.
“The advertisement included nude pictures, purportedly of Ratcliff,” according to a police report.
An undercover officer posing as a customer called Ratliff and then went to her apartment, where Ratliff allegedly offered to perform a sexual act for $200, according to the police report.
Ratcliff has a criminal history involving prostitution.
In March 2007, she was arrested by Cincinnati police on charges of solicitation and prostitution. Ratcliff was convicted in August of that year on the prostitution charges, but the solicitation charges were dismissed, Curlis said.
She also was arrested in March 2009 in Colerain Twp. on a charge of violating a protection order. She was later convicted on that charge in June, he said.
Curlis said Internet prostitution is not a typical crime in Monroe, though the police department worked with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office in 2008 to arrest suspects involved in a Cragslist.com adult prostitution sting.
“We usually actively don’t do operations like this because we don’t see a lot of problems like this. It’s unusual for us,” he said.
