A woman pleaded no contest Tuesday to charges related to a crash that killed a 93-year-old woman in Clark County in November.
Theresa G. Kidd, 57, of Fairborn, made her plea to a charge of vehicular manslaughter, a second-degree misdemeanor. She was sentenced to a suspended 60 days in jail and two years of probation, and her license will be suspended for two years, according to court documents.
She will also have to complete 100 hours of community service and pay a $500 fine.
Kidd was driving a 2000 Dodge Caravan on Dayton-Springfield Road shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 6, 2017, when she allegedly went left of center, striking a 1999 Plymouth Breeze driven by Ruth Clensy, 93, also of Fairborn, according to court records.
The crash occurred near the intersection of Dayton-Springfield and Haddix roads in Mad River Twp.
Both Kidd and Clensy were taken to Miami Valley Hospital after the crash. Clensy later died at the hospital.
Kidd told troopers after that crash that she was going to her grandson’s house in Enon to take him cigarettes but didn’t know what happened after that, according to court records.
No alcohol or drugs were suspected in the crash, the report says.
