A woman went to Miami Valley Hospital after she said she was attacked and sexually assaulted Monday in broad daylight.

The 24-year-old woman told hospital staff she was assaulted around noon in an alley in the area of Clover Street and Steele Avenue in Dayton, our news partner WHIO-TV reported.

A hospital nurse called 911 because medical professionals are mandated by law to report sexual assaults.

The nurse said the woman refused to speak with police, but that officers should come and pick up the rape kit that was performed, the station reported.

In the 911 call, the nurse said the woman told emergency room staff she was attacked around lunchtime.

“She said she fell backward, hit her head and doesn’t remember what happened after but she remembers he was pulling down her pants. When she woke, he was running away,” the nurse said in the 911 call, WHIO reported.
