63-year-old Dayton man pleads guilty to child porn charges

A 63-year-old man pleaded guilty to child porn charges Wednesday in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court, according to court records.

Jeff McDonald was convicted of 10 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor (create, reproduce, publish).

He is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 16.

Multiple charges against McDonald were dismissed, including:

  • 7 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor (create, reproduce, publish)
  • 2 counts of pandering sexual oriented material involving minor (create material)
  • 4 counts of pandering sexual oriented material involving minor (solicit-possess material)
  • 1 count of illegal use of minor in nudity oriented material or performance

In June 2018, Kettering police received a call about a memory card with pictures of child pornography, according to the prosecutor’s office.

McDonald, a Dayton resident, was identified as the owner of the memory card, prompting Dayton police to be notified.

An investigation into the memory card and McDonald’s cell phone revealed multiple images and videos of child pornography, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Court records showed that the crimes were committed between June and September 2017.
