FIRST REPORT (July 12th)

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a man in connection to a weekend shooting in the 1600 block of West Fifth Street.

On Sunday, a 19-year-old man arrived at good Samaritan Hospital in grave condition with a gunshot wound to his face, according to the sheriff’s office. The man was then transported to Miami Valley Hospital and is now listed in serious condition.

The two men who brought the victim to the hospital allegedly gave false information on where the shooting occurred, the sheriff’s office said.

Detectives later identified the shooting location and have recovered evidence from the 1600 block of West Fifth Street.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for Willie Dan Jenkins III, 18, for questioning to the shooting. Jenkins has an active warrant for his arrest.

The sheriff’s office is also working to identify two women who were allegedly near the shooting scene.

Anyone with information is asking to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 937-225-4357.
