1-The district is a result of a rebranding effort as the Miami Twp.-Dayton Mall Joint Economic Development District adopted a long-term plan for the mall area to keep it a primary shopping, dining and entertainment center.

The plan adopted in late 2015 said the area could support $200 million in new investment over 12 years. This includes 1,200 multifamily residential units, and more than 350 new jobs from thousands of square feet of new retail and office space.
2-The district includes a 2.2 square mile area of Miamisburg and Miami Twp. involving Ohio 725 and Ohio 741.

Its general boundaries include Sycamore Medical Center to the west, Cox Arboretum to the north, Southview Medical Center to east and Interstate 675 to the south.
3-The plan adopted in 2015 includes three "catalytic" development areas for the district. They include the Lyons Ridge Drive area south of the mall, Mad River Station just north of the mall and Prestige Summit to the west.

However, another key area targeted for upgrades is I-75’s Exit 44 interchange with Ohio 725, as it is a main gateway to both Miami Twp. and Miamisburg.

They include nearly 200 shopping options, about 145 service locations, more than 65 food choices, and nearly 20 lodging and entertainment choices.
