A Hilton Home2 Suites is proposed for the Cornerstone of Centerville development.
City Council in mid-July approved construction of a three-story hotel despite opposition from residents concerned it would be too close to their homes and bring additional traffic, noise and light pollution.
At the time, developers did not say which hotel chain would build the facility next to Costco Warehouse, which opened in 2014.
A public hearing on zoning variances for the project at 5321 Cornerstone North Blvd. is set for 7:30 p.m. May 24, the city announced Wednesday on its Facebook page.
One variance is to have its brand standard beacon as an architectural feature 8 feet higher than allowed. The second variance is for a screened dumpster in the front yard of a dual frontage lot, according to the city’s notice. The application is filed by Scarlet & Gray Hospitality.
