Robinson said that he was cutting a customer’s hair when he heard thunder outside, which made him wonder if the lights would go out.
“As soon as that thought came to me, the lights cut off,” he said.
Robinson happened to have two headlamps on hand because he had just gone camping last week. The LED lights on the headlamp provide good lighting, Robinson said.
“Also, it’s a good thing that some of the tools I have are battery operated,” he said.
Robinson brought the generator and extension cords from his house. The cords were “able to distribute power and give our tools the necessary power to be able to do the job,” he said.

“I have appointments every half hour, so I had to get something done,” Robinson said. “It worked out perfectly.”
Only one appointment had to be pushed back because of the power outage, Robinson said.
Customer Wesley Patterson said that today was his first time getting a haircut using a headlamp.
“I might have him use it every time,” he said.
