Hundreds Of Jobs To Leave Middletown

Workers have been locked out by AK Steel for nearly a year now and Tuesday they got some news that hundreds of jobs are leaving Middletown.

The company announced that it will be moving its corporate operations out of the building in Middletown and into a new one in West Chester.

That means hundreds of jobs are also moving.

A spokesman for AK said the move is purely a business decision.

Alan McCoy said the new location will allow them to upgrade their communications systems.

He said AK's largest steel plant will remain in Middletown.

Meanwhile, union officials met with company executives for about a half hour as contract talks continue.

No word on when the two sides will meet again.
