Four things to know about Dayton Christian School

Dayton Christian School on Monday announced a $6 million capital campaign to expand its campus. Here are four things to know about the school.

EXPANSION PLANS: $1.7 million has been raised so far to build a 31,000 square foot gymnasium seating 600. It would be the first gym in the school's 54-year history.

CONSTRUCTION TIMELINE: The goal is to break ground on the expansion by the end of the summer and complete construction in the fall of 2018.

CURRENT CAMPUS: The school has been located on 45 acres at 9391 Washington Church Road in Miami Twp. for 15 years. About 900 students in K-12 are housed in facilities that include 203,000 square feet.

HISTORY: Dayton Christian School is an inter-denominational, co-educational ministry. Dayton Christian Elementary School started in 1963 at Patterson Park Grace Brethren Church and the high school was founded in 1967, housed at 51 Best St.
