Longtime Bellbrook-Sugarcreek school board member resigns

A member of the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek school board resigned effective Monday for health reasons.

Kathy Kingston, who is a retired district teacher, served on the Board of Education for more than 13 years.

“Kathy fulfilled a key role regarding legislative actions that impacted our schools, advocating for the good of our students and the best interests of our community,” David Carpenter, board vice president, stated in a release. “We thank her for her many years of service and wish for her to have a full and complete recovery.”

Kingston’s term was set to expire in Dec. 31, 2021. The board must name a replacement within 30 days.

The board will review all applications and decide on the replacement at its Jan. 9 meeting.

Those interested in serving on the board should submit a letter of interest, complete the board member application and send the letter and application by Jan. 2 to David Carpenter, B.S.S. Candidates must be at least 18, a district resident and a registered voter.
