“At Cedarville University we train students with academic excellence rooted in Scripture,” said Thomas White, the school’s president. “It is an honor to have others recognize the quality instruction provided by our faculty as we train our students to glorify God with all of their lives.”
Known for its rigorous academics and biblical worldview, Cedarville is the fourth highest-ranked college in Ohio and the top school in southwestern Ohi, the university said in the release.
The rankings are based on a variety of indicators of excellence including retention rates, peer assessment, financial resources and alumni giving. According to U.S. News and World Report, Cedarville’s strong freshman retention rate (86 percent) and high graduation rate (70 percent) were keys to its high ranking. Only Taylor University (88 percent) and Ohio Northern University (87 percent) had higher freshman retention rates among colleges in the top 10, according to the release.
In addition, Cedarville’s total cost for tuition and fees was the second lowest of any school in the top 10, trailing only College of the Ozarks.
U.S. News and World Report also ranks Cedarville in the top 100 in Best Online Graduate Nursing Program (No. 83) and Best Online Graduate Education Program (No. 100).
