Carol Dorsey is resigning her seat on Springboro City Council.

Dorsey replaced her husband Bruce Moore after his death on Sept. 29, 2016. Springboro City Council voted unanimously to appoint his wife to replace him in October 2016.

Dorsey is resigning because she will be moving out of the city to Clearcreek Twp.

“It’s been an honor to serve on City Council, an honor and a privilege,” Dorsey said.

Dorsey married Dr. William Dorsey and they are moving to a new home in the unincorporated area of the township.

Township trustees can live in the city, but city council members cannot live in the township.

Dorsey was elected in 2017, running unopposed.

“I love Springboro,” Dorsey said before Thursday’s council meeting. “It’s been good to be a part of it.”

Dorsey is resigning, effective July 31. The council is expected to name her replacement.
