Pedestrian struck on U.S. 127 near Camden ID’d as Butler County man

UPDATE @ 2:15 p.m.:

The pedestrian struck by a car early this morning been identified as a 19-year-old Butler County man.

Cameron McConnal of West Chester Twp. was standing in the middle of U.S. 127 in Camden when around 4:40 a.m. the driver of a southbound vehicle didn’t see him and struck him, Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson said.

McConnal was flown to Kettering Medical Center with serious injuries, the sheriff said.

The driver was not cited.

UPDATE @ 6:15 a.m: U.S. 127 has reopened after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning.


U.S. 127 is blocked and a medical helicopter was called after a pedestrian was struck just north of the village of Camden Wednesday morning.

Initial reports indicate a vehicle struck an individual around 4:40 a.m. and the person was in a ditch, according to emergency scanner traffic.

The medical helicopter was requested to the scene and arrived a short time later.

The victim’s condition was not immediately known.
