About the Author
Karen Schuster Webb has been named the next president of Antioch University Midwest. She will join the university on Nov. 1 and initially serve as provost and vice president of academic affairs. As of Jan. 1, 2014, Webb will formally assume the presidency when current President Ellen Hall retires, the university announced.
From 2000 to 2009, Webb was a professor and the founding university dean of the Shirley M. Hufstedler School of Education. From 2009 to present, she has served as associate provost for community engagement, the university said. She earned a PhD in applied linguistics: English education, a master of science degree in education, urban and overseas English, and a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish from Indiana University-Bloomington.
