Job search site ZipRecuiter compiled a list of the top up-and-coming cities for college grads.
The site looked at major metropolitan areas in the U.S. and analyzed the number of jobs available, percent of available positions that require a bachelor degree, median cost of rent and percent of 20-24 year olds living in the region.
Here are the top 5 best cities for college graduates and a few of their most attractive qualities:
1. Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Median rent: $815 per month
Industries with continuous growth: financial and healthcare
2. Boise City-Nampa, Idaho
Average population of 20-24 year olds: above average
Positive job growth: government, business and its tech industry
3. Dayton, Ohio
Median rent: $671 per month
Top positions: research and production of aviation and aerospace technology
4. Lincoln, Nevada
Median rent: $200 cheaper than the nation’s median
Highest population of 20-24 year olds on this list
5. Fort Wayne, Indiana
Top positions: healthcare and insurance.
Other popular positions: marketing/PR, manufacturing/operations and management/executive.
