Bicycling law talk Feb. 7
On Feb. 7, from 6:30-8 p.m., Steven Magas, known as Ohio’s “Bike Lawyer,” will give a presentation at the Springboro Library, 125 Park Lane. An avid cyclist and a trial lawyer with 35 years of courtroom experience, Magas’ passion for cycling led to his work in legal issues of interest to cyclists.
His talk is designed for both lawyers and cyclists and will cover topics such as the history of the bicycle and its impact on society; the Good Roads Movement and the early development of traffic laws and bike laws.

LEBANON
City appoints school resource officer
The City of Lebanon Division of Police has assigned Patrol Officer Dustin Kurilko as the department’s first School Resource Officer. In a memorandum of understanding between the City of Lebanon and the Lebanon City School District, the School Resource Officer Program was established to provide a full-time police officer to the school district to serve three primary roles: Safety and Law Enforcement Partner, Educational Resource, and Problem Solver and Liaison to Community Resources.
The School Resource Officer will operate from Lebanon High School and is responsible for all school campuses within Lebanon City Schools.
MORAINE
Fire Division organizing C.E.R.T. training
The Fire Division is currently organizing Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) training. Using their training, C.E.R.T. members can assist others in their neighborhoods or workplaces during an event when professional responders are not immediately available. C.E.R.T. educates citizens about: disaster preparedness, basic disaster response skills, fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
Eligible is anyone 18 or older who lives or works in Moraine or the surrounding area.
