This levy will be used to maintain community policing programs, response times, and up-to-date equipment; add one full-time firefighter position, as part-time and volunteer numbers are declining; add one full-time police officer position to allow for a dedicated, school resource officer for schools located in the city; and earmark general funds to keep downtown safe and inviting for residents and visitors, including improvements to street lights and sidewalks.
