Landscape design program set for March 11

A landscape design program will be held at 10 a.m. March 11 at Centerville High School Theater, 500 E. Franklin St.

Jill Early, landscape designer for the Kettering Medical Center, will be the keynote speaker.

This is free and open to the public.

KETTERING

Rain barrel workshop slated for March 11

A rain barrel workshop will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. March 11 at the Habitat Environment Center, 3036 Bellflower St.

Rain barrels conserve water and can help reduce water bills.

Participants will leave class with a complete rain barrel.

The cost is $75 for residents and $80 for nonresidents, and materials are provided.

Paint & Wine event March 23

Paint & Wine will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. March 23.

Heather Lea Reid will lead the class, which is geared to be a fun, social activity.

Participants will create a step-by-step painting. Painting supplies will be provided and no experience is needed.

Food and drink will be available for purchase. Class members must be at least 21 years old.

The cost is $26 for residents and $36 for nonresidents.

Speaker series continues at library

The Oakwood Historical Society and Wright Memorial Public Library will present Public Transit in Oakwood from the Early Days to the Present as part of the Far Hills Speaker Series.

The event will be held at 2 p.m. March 5 at the library, 1776 Far Hills Ave.

Tim Morrow will lead a discussion that cover public transportation from streetcars to diesel busses.

Outdoor sirens tested March 6

The Washington Twp. Fire Department checks the outdoor alert sirens the first Monday of every month. There are 12 sirens through Centerville and Washington Twp.

The next test will be conducted March 6.

Siren testing lasts 15 to 30 minutes.

Pinkalicious starts March 10

The Landmark Children’s Theatre Company Production presents Pinkalicious, which will be held March 10-26.

This musical follows along as Pinkalicious learns moderation regarding her love of pink cupcakes.

The production will be held at the Town Hall Theatre, 27 N. Main St., and is geared toward children ages four and older.
